After a break of 6 years we will be marking our 30th anniversary with a revival of our popular Jessie’s Fund sponsored bike ride. Way back in 2007 some 25 people set out to Amsterdam from York on our first ride ever. In 2019 our 10th ride took us to Normandy for a challenging and, as we pondered on the lives lost during the infamous Normandy Landings in 1944, emotional four days.
Despite having done 10 rides, we have actually never cycled in England (other than to get to a ferry), so the 2025 ride will break the mould and ‘come home’. The ‘Three Minsters, Moors and Sea’ ride will start and end (you guessed it!) at York Minster and take in Howden Minster and Beverley Minster before cycling up to Dalby Forest on the North York Moors, and then to the east coast, towards Flamborough Head and Bridlington. The final day will see us cycling back to York Minster, possibly a little tired having cycled about 200 miles, but most likely rather happy!
The four-day ride will start on Wednesday 23rd July and finish on Saturday 26th July 2025. There will be our usual brilliant ride guides, Matt and Ben, and a support vehicle to transport our luggage to the overnight accommodation. Riders will have to commit to raising sponsorship so that we can be sure of helping more babies, children and young people through the power of music.
More information will be available on our website in a month or two, but if you would like to be among the first to be sent more details and to get a sign-up link, please email us to register your interest.
