‘Lockdown session’ interactive video released

Our ‘lockdown session’ videos, recorded by our musicians in their homes, are aimed at helping children, their families and teachers to make music, wherever they are. About 20 minutes long, and free for all, they offer an opportunity for playing along, listening and moving about.

There will be four videos in this series, with the first available from 12th June, and the rest released about once a fortnight. All four pieces have been designed to cater for the needs and processing times of sensory learners with complex needs, but we’ve also made sure that there’s plenty in there for everyone to enjoy!

The four pieces go from the really energising to the totally relaxing, and offer opportunities to play, sing, dance or just listen. The first video, Maku tame, is an upbeat song from Mozambique. A great chance to get the instruments out, have a dance and have lots of fun! You might want to have something to tap: a drum/tub or even a cushion, and something to shake – a salt mill/plastic container with rice in, or whatever else you can find around the house. Enjoy now!
