Our events celebrating our 25th anniversary last year had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, but we are thrilled that some have been rescheduled. The performance of Messiah by The English Concert, directed by our Patron Trevor Pinnock, will be at 7.30pm on Friday 15th October 2021, at St James’s Church Piccadilly, 197 Piccadilly, London, W1J 9LL. Trevor Pinnock speaks about the concert here.
Soloists Sophie Bevan, Claudia Huckle, Joshua Ellicott, and Ashley Riches will join Trevor and the choir and orchestra for what promises to be a wonderful performance, about which Trevor says ‘Handel devoted Messiah to the support of children, giving yearly benefit performances at the Foundling Hospital, and bequeathing them all his musical material. It has been my dream to follow Handel’s strong lead in this delayed celebration of 25 years of Jessie’s Fund, and this we do in a post-pandemic, shortened journey through his inspired masterpiece.’
Tickets are £35 and £28. Available here, or by calling 020 3962 2322
We give our thanks to our sponsor for making this concert possible, and to Stuart Pomeroy for generously offering to double profit/donations for Jessie’s Fund on the evening, up to a value of £5,000.
