We’re delighted that, with our support in partnership with the Friends of York Hospital, it has been possible to reinstate music therapy for children at York Hospital. After our successful pilot project, the end of which was brought about due to the pandemic, music therapist Aby Vulliamy has just started in post. Aby says:
‘I’m absolutely thrilled to be starting work via the fabulous Jessie’s Fund, providing Music Therapy for York Hospital Children’s Department. I have 18 year’s experience as a Music Therapist and I really love my job; getting to know people through music and play is always fascinating, challenging, moving and rewarding. I work in a child-led, play-based, creative way, but am also confident with needs-based assessment, and target-focused provision, in long- and short-term therapy.’
We’re sure that this will make a big difference to children’s hospital experience, and we look forward to telling you more about it in due course.
