One of our last projects before the world was turned upside down by the pandemic was at Mabel Prichard School, in Oxfordshire. Mabel Prichard School is a community special school for children and young people with complex needs from the ages of 2 to 19. The school says ‘We believe in enabling every student to discover who they are and to realise their full potential. Our curriculum offers a broad range of opportunities to face challenge; develop independence; prepare for adulthood; discover the world around them; be safe and develop the skills and knowledge to lead a happy, positive and fulfilled life.’
Recognising the importance of music for their students, the school invited Jessie’s Fund to run a project: children and young adults went on a musical journey, taking part in musical workshops and using music as an alternative way to communicate. That’s TV South Midlands went in to observe, and created and broadcast a lovely memory of the project.
