This page is for those who have attended one of our online Making Music with Special Children courses. If you have arrived here and have not been on one of these courses, but would like to know more about our training courses, please click here.
Who is this training day for?
This follow-up day is for anyone who attended one of our online training courses between January 2021 and March 2022. It will be a celebration of learning and playing together again, adding the missing part of the puzzle to the online sessions you attended.
Cathy Ibberson and Mark Withers, who you met online, will be the tutors again. We’re all looking forward to seeing you in person, making music, and sharing more ideas. It will also be a great opportunity for you to chat to each other – often the best way to get tips!
Where and when?
The day will take place at the Priory Street Centre, Priory Street, York YO1 6ET, on Friday 17th June, 2022.
Registration will be 10.15am – 10.30am, and the sessions will end at 4.30pm.
York is very well served by the rail network, and the Priory Street Centre is less than 10 minutes’ walk from the station. There is a car park a similar distance away, but it’s rather expensive to park there for a day: rail travel is recommended.
What will the day cover?
We will be focusing mainly on what wasn’t possible in the online sessions: for example playing samba, trying different instruments, new songs, experiencing musical conversations. There’ll be a chance to look a little more deeply into a skill you learnt on the previous course, and also a chance to do something new.
Jessie’s Fund is able to subsidise the day thanks to a grant from a charitable foundation. Your contribution will be £25, which includes lunch and refreshments – we think that’s amazing value!
Please fill in the form below. Early booking is recommended, as numbers are limited. We’ll contact you to confirm your place, and with payment information.
Payment will be due by 10th June. If you pay before that date and need to cancel for any reason, we can offer a full refund up to 10th June, but no refund thereafter.
