We’re delighted that this autumn we will be returning to face-to-face training courses, having been almost entirely online since the end of 2019. We have a new ‘blended’ format, but still lots fantastic ideas and techniques for making music with children who have complex needs.
There will be a course in York and another in Stevenage, just 25 minutes from central London by train. The in-person element will be a whole day, following which there will be the opportunity for people to have a personalised online session with a tutor, and then a two hour follow-up online session for the course as a whole. I loved how positive everyone was – and how each tutor was keen to respond to the individual needs of tutees – I can confidently say that this course provided the most student centred teaching I’ve ever had.
I felt empowered by the trainers to be able to use music to communicate where words perhaps would not suffice. This alone blew my mind. Additionally mix that with all of the tools and experience that were shared I feel totally inspired to develop communication skills and to speak to others about how to use music to provide an enriching experience for pupils of all abilities.
Thank you for everything you do – I thoroughly enjoyed the course and it has given me a fresh motivation and enthusiasm for music. It will 100% make a difference to how I use music in my role at the hospice.
For those who attended our online courses over the past two years there will be an opportunity to gather in person on 17th June, in York. It will be a day for making music together and for learning more techniques to use with children. More details and a booking form are here.
