Victoria Wood remembered in Manchester

There has been an outpouring of grief and respect for Victoria Wood, who died on 20th April at just 62. On Saturday 4 June Victoria Station, in Manchester, became Victoria Wood Station for an hour. Actress Sue Devaney, who worked with Victoria, was the brilliant presenter at the event organised by Manchester Lesbian and Gay Chorus. Hundreds of fans turned up, many dressed as their favourite Victoria Wood character, and the love for our late Patron was palpable. Fans were generous, too, donating £1025 altogether to Jessie’s Fund. Press coverage included articles in The Guardian and in the Manchester Evening News.

Victoria’s family has invited people to donate to us in her memory. You can do so here.
