Mabel Prichard School is a community special school for children and young people with complex needs from the ages of 2 to 19. The school says ‘We believe in enabling every student to discover who they are and to realise their full potential. Our curriculum offers a broad range of opportunities to face challenge; develop independence; prepare for adulthood; discover the world around them; be safe and develop the skills and knowledge to lead a happy, positive and fulfilled life.’
Recognising the importance of music for their students, the school asked Jessie’s Fund to run a Soundtracks project: they were particularly keen to make good use the set of Samba instruments for which we had previously provided funding.
Our musicians Ali and Helen had a great time with the students and staff at the school, which invited in the local press. That’s TV South Midlands did a little feature on it which you can see here, and there are some lovely photos accompanying an article which appeared in the Oxford Mail here.
