A long-term partnership with Martin House

Our first partnership, 30 years ago, was with Martin House Children’s Hospice, working with their head of care and new music therapist to buy instruments. We have been working together ever since, and recently supported them with a grant to develop their music therapy provision.

Lucy has been attending Martin House since getting a diagnosis of a rare gene defect that makes her unable to move her limbs, affects her sight and hearing, and causes painful muscle spasms. For her family, music therapy sessions offer ‘a bit of peace and normality. She enjoys hearing and experiencing music and singing in her music therapy sessions.’ Being able to leave Lucy with experienced music therapists gives her family a little bit of time in the day to think, organise, go for a walk, and take her brother to the playground while Lucy enjoy songs and music.

2024-2025 impact numbers

During the year, we continued to deliver music therapy and creative projects across UK hospices, hospitals and schools, including a new partnership at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability and 21 projects in specialist and early years settings.

Our future plans

Our vision: Every seriously ill or disabled child in the UK experiences music as communication, learning, and therapy.

Through our strategy we aim to:

  • Reach more children across the UK through new and existing partnerships and an expanded digital library.
  • Extend our impact through staff training, and creating a new schools network and accreditation framework.
  • Uphold the high-quality delivery we’re known for.
  • Secure our future for the next 30+ years through sustainable income and strong reserves.

Help us reach even more children

Transform lives through music for years to come.
