Musician

Chris is a Teacher and Community Musician from Newcastle upon Tyne, with a love for early years music and inclusive practice. He is a trained pianist and composer and also sings in the Chorus of Royal Northern Sinfonia. He has a Masters Degree in Music, as well as a PGCE specialising in Early Childhood studies and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Following a number of years working in education, Chris joined the Glasshouse International Centre for Music as a Community Music Trainee, where he developed his inclusive musical practice and music-making approach. Chris has experience working across a range of community and educational settings with children and families; young people with SEND; social and emotional mental health needs; and looked after children. He has worked collaboratively in partnership with The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, Cultural Spring, We Make Culture, Jessie’s Fund, Music Partnership North and local schools and centres. He’s passionate about helping people explore music in ways that feel joyful, meaningful and just right for them.
