Making connections through music with Kentown Support

Making connections through music with Kentown Support

Posted:

We had our first training day in September with staff from across the Kentown Support team, who provide care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. As well as developing the expertise of their programme teams, the day allowed the team to explore different ways of connections with each other, and the families they support.

We had some great discussions about how music can help express emotions and build connections, tried out musical conversations, explored musical iPad apps and composed some personalised songs.

When asked what their favourite aspect of the course was, one attendee shared:

“Recognising the magic of music for supporting children express themselves. And how the instructors taught it in a simple easy to get way. Feel like music is a lot more easier to get involved in then I expected!”

If you or your organisation is interested in training from Jessie’s Fund, we still have places on our training courses in York and London, or you can contact us about bespoke training: info@jessiesfund.org.uk.
